Body of man found along Southern Bypass after suspected murder

Police in Lang’ata, Nairobi, have launched an investigation after the body of a man was discovered beside the Southern Bypass near the National Housing Corporation on Sunday, September 20, 2026. The body, identified as an unidentified middle-aged African man, was found by a Kenya National Highways Authority employee. Police reported that the man had two visible injuries to the head, suggesting a possible murder.

An identification card bearing the name Evans Moruri Omariba was recovered during the scene processing. A postmortem examination is underway to establish the cause of death. Meanwhile, in Kahawa West, Nairobi, police are investigating another suspected murder. An unidentified middle-aged man, believed to be around 30 years old, was found dead near a church.

The body was processed by Crime Scene Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, and a postmortem examination is expected to determine the cause of death. Lastly, a 19-year-old man who had been treated for serious assault injuries at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital has succumbed to his wounds. Police have classified his death as a murder and are continuing investigations into the assault that led to his death.
