Black Stars Team Manager Ameenu Shardow takes up new GFA diaspora role

Black Stars team manager Ameenu Shardow has been appointed the Head of the GFA's Strategic Diaspora Programme, the Ghana Football Association has announced. Shardow's departure from his position with the senior national team, where he served for over five years, marks the start of a new chapter as he takes on this key role within the GFA's renewed strategy to strengthen ties with Ghanaian football stakeholders overseas.

In his new capacity, Shardow will lead initiatives to identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with Ghanaian players born or raised abroad, while simultaneously fostering deeper collaborations with diaspora clubs, academies, and communities. The GFA emphasized that Shardow will collaborate closely with the Technical Directorate, Ghana’s diplomatic missions abroad, the parents of Ghanaian players overseas, scouts, and the National Teams Department.

His extensive experience in team management and player relations is anticipated to bolster the association's efforts to enhance talent identification and facilitate the integration of diaspora-born players into Ghana’s national teams. The GFA further disclosed that the appointment of a new Black Stars team manager will be revealed at a later time.
