In a resounding performance at the Asian Games 2026, India's women's hockey team secured a dominant 17-1 victory over Indonesia in their second Pool B match on Monday. Star players Deepika Sehrawat and Rutuja Pisal led the charge with hat-tricks, as the Indian team continued their impressive streak of two wins in two matches, following their opening win over Uzbekistan.

Deepika Sehrawat, who broke records with an eight-goal performance against Uzbekistan, showcased her prowess once again, contributing three more goals in the victory. Rutuja Pisal also demonstrated her scoring prowess, adding three goals to her tally. Sunelita Toppo, Salima Tete, and Sakshi Rana were among the other key goal scorers for India.

The match started with Deepika Sehrawat scoring the opening goal via a penalty corner conversion in the eighth minute. The goals continued to pour in, with Sunelita Toppo, Lalremsiami, and Rutuja Pisal scoring in quick succession to give India a 4-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Lalremsiami notched her second goal in the 16th minute from a rebound after a blocked strike from Navneet.

Rutuja Pisal added her second goal in the 20th minute, with Neha passing the ball to her. In the second half, Sakshi Rana, Deepika Sehrawat, and Sunelita Toppo continued the scoring spree, making it 14-1 at halftime. After the break, Salima Tete, Navneet, and Ishika added to the tally, making it 17-1 in the end.
