(Asiad) S. Korea, N. Korea draw 1-1 in women's football at Asian Games

FUKUROI, Japan - South Korea and North Korea played to a 1-1 draw in their women's football match at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Monday, securing second place in Group F. The game took place at Shizuoka Stadium Ecopa in Fukuroi, located 104 kilometers east of Nagoya. Both North Korea and South Korea had already advanced to the quarterfinals with two wins each before Monday's match.

In the first 30 minutes, the two Koreas exchanged several chances inside the box without scoring. In the 36th minute, North Korea took the lead when Chae Un-yong capitalized on a corner kick from Jon Ryong-jong, striking the ball past the goalkeeper. Later, Jon had a one-on-one opportunity on the left side, but her shot went wide.

At the beginning of the second half, South Korea equalized the score at 1-1. Choi Yu-ri found Yun Su-jeong, who slid the ball into the net. The two teams continued to exchange shots, but neither team managed to find the winning goal.
