Apple CEO John Ternus Talks iPhone Duo Design, Siri AI, and Becoming CEO

Apple CEO John Ternus spoke with Canal+ talk show Clique following Apple's September event. When developing the iPhone Duo, Apple engineers had to solve numerous problems, particularly around the hinge and display design to ensure reliability. Ternus showcased the device's opening animation, describing it as whimsical and fun. He reiterated Apple's stance on AI companions, stating that Siri is not designed to be a friend, emphasizing that Apple doesn't want to replace human relationships.

Ternus revealed that he was approached by then-CEO Tim Cook and Apple's board to be the next Apple CEO, expressing surprise and excitement at the opportunity. As Apple's CEO, Ternus said he doesn't plan to radically change the company's focus, which has always been on innovation, products, and customers. He expressed his passion for product development and continued excitement about his role at Apple.
