AIGAION PELAGOS at IMO Headquarters

On Wednesday, September 9, at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) headquarters in London, a model of the Greek salvage tug AIGAION PELAGOS was unveiled. The ceremony drew the attention of IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez, Greek Embassy representatives, MEGATUGS Salvage & Towage officials, and maritime community members.

The unveiling ceremony followed the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) recognition of the AIGAION PELAGOS master and crew in November 2025. This accolade honored their outstanding courage, professionalism, and dedication during the challenging salvage operation of the tanker MT SOUNION in August 2024, following an attack by Houthi forces in the Red Sea.
