Access Bank, Harvest Group, others turn up for Ambassador Clark-Omeru, as Letter of Credence presented to Hichilema

Nigeria's new High Commissioner to Zambia, Ambassador Queen Efe Alexandra Clark-Omeru, formally joined her country in Zambia on Friday by presenting her Letter of Credence to President Hakainde Hichilema at the State House in Lusaka. The formal ceremony marked her elevation to the highest diplomatic position in Nigeria. Accompanied by Mrs Epelle C.A, Nigeria's former Acting High Commissioner to Zambia, Ambassador Clark-Omeru hosted a lunch at the Nigerian High Commission, attended by members of the Nigerian community, corporate leaders from Access Bank, Harvest Group, United Bank for Africa (UBA), Sahara Energy, and Dangote Cement.

The event was marked by expressions of appreciation for the warm reception accorded her by Nigerians and citizens of other nations. Speaking at the luncheon, Dr Iheanyi Nwogu, Managing Director of Access Bank Zambia, congratulated Ambassador Clark-Omeru on her appointment and pledged the bank's support and collaboration in her new role.

He added that Access Bank Zambia valued her commitment to promoting the growth and development of Nigerian-owned businesses. Dr Adaoha Ugo-Ngadi, Group Managing Director of Harvest Group of Companies Limited, extended warm greetings to Ambassador Clark-Omeru, emphasizing the group's vision to positively impact Africa. She was represented by Sam Ibemere, Corporate Communications Lead at Harvest Group.

Nigerians In Diaspora Organization (NIDO) president, Apostle Barrister Joel Akobaro Joseph welcomed the new ambassador, reminding fellow Nigerians abroad that they represent Nigeria wherever they are and pledged their commitment to maintaining a positive image of their nation. Born in 1972, Ambassador Clark-Omeru previously served as Nigeria's Consul General for the Littoral and West Regions of Cameroon.

Her previous postings included serving as Nigeria's High Commissioner in South Africa and as Head of Mission in Argentina. Appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, she began her tenure as Nigeria's top envoy to Zambia in July 2026.
