Abandoned vehicles, equipment to be auctioned on ‘Court Mzadat’ app

Doha, Qatar witnessed the launch of auctions for abandoned vehicles and equipment through the "Court Mzadat" application yesterday. The initiative, a collaboration between the Ministry of Municipality, the Supreme Judiciary Council, and the Enforcement Court, aims to streamline the sale of abandoned items and improve the use of digital tools in auction management.

The launch event saw the presence of Vice President of the Enforcement Court, Honorable Judge Mohammed Al-Kubaisi, alongside officials from the Ministry of Municipality and the Supreme Judiciary Council. This move is part of a memorandum of understanding signed between the two bodies in October 2025, emphasizing their commitment to transparency and efficiency in managing seized items.

Director General of Al Wakra Municipality and Vice Chairman of the Joint Committee, Jaber Hassan Al Jaber, highlighted how the auction of vehicles through the "Court Mzadat" application aligns with the ministry's goal to leverage modern technologies in managing abandoned vehicles and machinery. Othman Al Hamoud, Administrative Director at the Enforcement Court, noted that this represents a significant step in their ongoing cooperation, showcasing how shared digital solutions can bolster service development.

Auctions will occur twice monthly, from 4pm to 7pm, with a live countdown timer in the application to indicate when each auction concludes. The number of vehicles varies with each campaign, typically ranging from 100 to 120, with details available in the "Vehicles" section of the application. Bidders can view models, images, and key information for each item, providing a clear view of what to expect before participating.
