20 BVB first team players called up for international duty

The 2026-27 season brings a new international duty scheme for Borussia Dortmund first team players. In place of three nine-day breaks, there will now be one 16-day and one nine-day window. These breaks span September and October and are designed to accommodate matches against various nations. Among the 20 selected players, several will represent their respective national teams during these international matches.

Notable selections include Nico Schlotterbeck and Waldemar Anton for Germany, Gregor Kobel for Switzerland, and Julian Ryerson for Norway. Joey Veerman, who returns to the Dutch national team after a two-year absence, is also part of the roster. Young talents such as Konstantinos Karetsas from Greece, Mathis Albert from the United States, and Carney Chukwuemeka from Austria will also contribute to the national teams.
