Two ATM kiosks burgled near Karimnagar in pre-dawn heists

Early Sunday morning, two ATM kiosks of a nationalized bank were burgled near Karimnagar, India. The criminals escaped with cash after disabling the CCTV cameras and cutting open an ATM chest using a gas cutter. It remains unclear if the same gang was responsible for two other robberies in the area, one in Durshed and another in Thimmapur.

At Durshed, three masked robbers entered an ATM around 3:30 a.m., damaged the CCTV cameras, cut open the cash chest, and fled in a four-wheeler with around ₹8 lakh in cash. The alarm at the bank’s central control room was triggered, leading to the alerting of local bank staff. In Thimmapur, two masked miscreants targeted an ATM, one dressed in women’s attire, who spray-painted the CCTV camera before entering the kiosk.

The burglars fled with cash, though the exact amount was still unascertained. Similarities between the incidents suggest a possible gang from neighboring Maharashtra based on the modus operandi. Police have formed multiple teams to identify and apprehend the suspects, while examining CCTV footage for clues to trace the vehicle used in the heists.
