Turkish foreign minister says Israel should not 'chase empty dreams'

Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus has criticized Israel for attempting to widen divisions throughout the Middle East in its quest for a "promised land." During a civil society meeting in Kirsehir, he stated, "Israel should not chase empty dreams." Kurtulmus argued that Israel's primary objective is to instigate conflict among the region's people, enabling it to achieve its own "promised land."

He maintained that Turkey will instead unify the region and persist on its path. Kurtulmus accused Israel of conducting attacks in recent years against Palestine, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Qatar, emphasizing that nearly every country in the area has experienced conflict. He remarked, "They want to divide and fragment; we want to unite and integrate. They want to scatter; we want to bring people together."
