The Man Who Imagined and Calculated the Moon Landing
A self-taught Ukrainian helped the Americans land on the Moon and Soviet scientists were left kicking themselves. He also calculated the optimal Earth-Moon trajectory for a spaceship and mathematically substantiated the concept of using a gravitational maneuver. Four decades later, based on his calculations, the Americans landed on the Moon.
