The Hindi writer from Delhi who interviewed Khomeini and Khamenei

Nasera Sharma, a Hindi writer from Delhi, has had a remarkable career as both a novelist and a journalist who interviewed prominent leaders in the Middle East. Her work has been recognized with the prestigious Sahitya Akademi award. In the early 1980s, she interviewed Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, both leading figures in Iran during a tumultuous period of political change and war.

Nasera's interviews with the Iranian leaders sparked significant interest in Iran and beyond. After the assassination attempt on Khomeini in 1981, she met both leaders in Qom and Tehran, respectively, forming connections with them.
