Tennessee running back DeSean Bishop suffers injury vs Kennesaw State

Tennessee running back DeSean Bishop exited the game against Kennesaw State on September 19 due to injury, placing additional strain on the already limited backfield. Bishop, once a standout at Karns High, stumbled awkwardly following a 26-yard run where he broke several tackles. Following the incident, he discreetly placed his hand on his left hip before ambulating off the field independently, after receiving medical attention from trainers.

Bishop proceeded straight to the medical tent. This is a significant injury as he is an All-SEC running back, and the backfield is already dealing with multiple injuries. Running backs Javin Gordon and Justin Baker had to sit out the Kennesaw State game after sustaining injuries in UT's 45-24 triumph over Georgia Tech on September 12.

Gordon was dealing with an apparent leg injury and did not rejoin the game, whereas Baker had a bandage on his hand after partially blocking a punt during that match.
