Security forces kill five terrorists, recover 23 abductees near Kalat

Security forces in Pakistan successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on September 18-19 near Kalat in Balochistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The ISPR reported that terrorists belonging to the Fitna al Hindustan group had set up a check post along the Pakistan Highway (N-25) to abduct individuals for ransom, extortion, and vehicle theft.

In response to this threat, security forces engaged in an intense firefight, resulting in the deaths of five terrorists. The operation also led to the recovery of 23 abductees, as well as six trucks, three buses, and two cars from the terrorist hideout. Additionally, a significant quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives were seized by the security forces.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari both praised the security forces for their successful efforts, with the prime minister emphasizing the government's commitment to eliminating terrorism supported and sponsored from abroad. The ISPR stated that ongoing sanitization operations will continue in the surrounding areas to ensure the safety of local populations and maintain the security of national highways.
