Russian drone attack kills three children and a woman in Kyiv region

On Sunday, a Russian drone attack in the Kyiv region of Ukraine claimed the lives of four individuals, including three young children, according to Kyiv regional authorities. The attacks continued throughout the day, with drone fragments falling across various districts in Kyiv. In the capital, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported one person injured, while outside the capital, a mother and her two three-year-old children were killed when a Russian drone struck a private residence, as reported by the local emergency service.

Kyiv region governor Tymur Tkachenko confirmed that a girl died in the hospital following a separate drone strike in another district. The region experienced more than a day of hostile drone attacks, affecting multiple areas. Fastiv district, in the southwest, suffered the most damage, with over 24 sites struck, including homes, industrial buildings, utility facilities, and agricultural grounds, as well as vehicles.

Earlier in the evening, Russian forces targeted an area near an apartment building in Sumy, a northern city frequently targeted by Russia near the border, where Moscow aims to establish a buffer zone. Russia has not acknowledged these strikes. In recent weeks, Russian forces have been conducting continuous drone attacks on Kyiv and the surrounding region.

In Kramatorsk, part of Donetsk Region, one person died in one of several shelling incidents. The city is among several "fortress cities" repeatedly targeted by Russia during its slow advance into the region. Moldova's pro-Western government denounced what it described as an overnight drone intrusion north of Chisinau. The government strongly condemns Russia's invasion of Ukraine and numerous instances of Russian drones entering its airspace.
