Perak Fire Dept: Tambun house blaze leaves three family members dead, one injured

IPOH, September 20 - A tragic fire at a two-storey terraced house in Desa Tambun 4, Taman Desa Tambun claimed the lives of an elderly couple and their 18-year-old grandson, while leaving another relative injured. The Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) was alerted at 4 a.m. and dispatched a team from Tambun and Ipoh Fire and Rescue Stations to the scene.

The victims identified as Raja Ahmad Raja Ali, 70, Zaitun Mohamed, 64, and Nik Abdurrahman Azimin Harith Helal, 18, while 47-year-old Raja Ikhwan Hadi Raja Ahmad survived after being found in the house's parking area. Upon arrival, fire crews discovered that the fire had extensively damaged approximately 70 percent of the 20 by 70 feet house.

The elderly male was located in the bathroom on the ground floor, while the other two victims were found upstairs - one in the bathroom and another near a window in a bedroom. All six residents lived in the home, but only four were present during the incident. The fire was fully extinguished and the operation concluded at 8 a.m., with the victims being handed over to the police for further investigation.
