Muli coronation postponed to December due to protocol concerns

The coronation of Anzauni Clan Patron Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli, originally set for 3 October, has been postponed to 19 December due to protocol concerns. The organizers explain that the event has expanded beyond its initial cultural focus, becoming one of the largest traditional gatherings in Ukambani in recent years. With over 50 cultural groups from Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, and neighboring counties participating, and more than 20,000 clan members and friends expected to attend, additional coordination with government agencies is necessary to accommodate the presence of foreign dignitaries.

A senior committee member stated that foreign guests, including royal guests from abroad, required additional arrangements for protocol, security, and state reception. The national government is also interested, with several senior officials expected to attend. Notable figures such as Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, David Musila, Charity Ngilu, and governors of Kitui, Makueni, and Machakos counties have been invited.

Religious leaders from the Christian and Muslim communities have also been invited to offer prayers for Dr. Muli, who will assume his cultural leadership. The expanded attendance and logistical requirements have elevated the ceremony beyond a cultural function, emphasizing the empowerment of youth, women, and boda boda groups as key components of Dr. Muli's agenda.

While the organizers apologize for any inconvenience caused by the date change, they confirm that all invitations remain valid for the rescheduled date.
