MLA distributes borewell pump sets to SC/ST farmers

Basanagouda Daddal, the Raichur Rural MLA, distributed borewell pump sets to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) farmers in Raichur on Sunday. The event saw the distribution of 27 pump sets, benefiting 15 ST farmers and 12 SC farmers. Mr. Daddal emphasized that these pump sets would greatly assist agricultural activities and bolster local irrigation systems.

He expressed that farmers constitute the backbone of society and has been actively distributing borewell pump sets since 2018, totaling over 1,000 to farmers across all communities in the Raichur Rural constituency. Daddal addressed drought concerns, noting the severe distress faced by local farmers due to this year's short rainfall.

He submitted a formal request to Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to officially declare Raichur taluk as drought-affected. Daddal vowed to ensure that government welfare schemes and essential aid reach eligible beneficiaries promptly.
