Mike Norvell speaks after FSU blows early lead at No. 10 Alabama: “I’m pissed off that we didn’t win the game”

Norvell acknowledged that his team had fought hard but ultimately fell short. He expressed his frustration over the outcome, stating, "I'm pissed off that we didn't win the game." Norvell admitted that despite a strong start, they were unable to secure the necessary stops and made some critical errors on offense. He noted that the team had come out early and played well, but their performance dipped after halftime.

FSU had led 21-6 and maintained a 21-13 advantage before weather forced a stoppage in the first half. However, Alabama went on to score on nine consecutive possessions, marking a turning point in the game. Norvell commented on this sequence, calling it "an awful sequence of that game."

Regarding the defense, Norvell expressed concerns about its performance, calling it "not good enough" at this stage. He highlighted that both SMU and Alabama possessed strong offenses, but pointed to the issue of giving up over 550 yards in two consecutive games as a major problem. Norvell emphasized that despite the setback, the team is still growing.
