Manaki Watanabe kicks 4 field goals as Fresno State pulls away for 26-10 victory over San Jose State

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Manaki Watanabe kicked four field goals as Fresno State dominated San Jose State 26-10 in a Saturday night matchup.

The Bulldogs secured their first touchdown of the game when Jordan Malau'ulu returned a 68-yard punt, which set up Jayden Mandal's 18-yard touchdown pass to Josiah Freeman. This led to a 13-3 lead for Fresno State early in the third quarter.

Fresno State's Ethan Tierney made a crucial interception, returning the ball for a touchdown with 16 seconds left in the second half. He went on to score again, adding to the Bulldogs' three-point lead.

Malau'ulu's punt return also led to another Fresno State touchdown, adding to their advantage to 26-10. The Spartans' Carson Clark caught a 1-yard scoring toss to trim the deficit to three points.

Fresno State's scoring offense was led by Trajan Sinatra, who kicked two field goals, and Ethan Tierney, who had two interceptions. Fresno State's Jayden Mandal and Bryson Donelson contributed significantly to the win with their respective touchdowns and strong performances on offense.
