Luke Littler threatens Dutch boycott after World Series booing

Luke Littler, the back-to-back world champion darts player, has announced his intention to boycott tournaments in the Netherlands due to the hostile environment he faced during the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam. The 19-year-old was booed and whistled throughout his win against home favorite Danny Noppert on Friday and escalated the issue in the last-16 match against Nathan Aspinall on Saturday, when referee Charlie Costorphine had to intervene in the final moments of the game.

Littler has previously refused to travel to European Tour events in Germany because of similar treatment from fans there. He is fully prepared to do the same in the Netherlands if the crowd's behavior remains volatile. Littler stated that there is no point in him traveling to the Netherlands if he is going to be booed and waste his time.

Despite the hostile atmosphere, Littler managed to secure a win over Aspinall in a last-leg decider to keep his dream of a clean sweep alive. He is currently aiming to become the first man to win all 10 major televised tournaments in a calendar year, having already triumphed in the first five.
