Jessica Chastain Thriller ‘The Savant’ Getting 2027 Release On Apple TV After Year On Hold

Jessica Chastain's political thriller series "The Savant" is set to be released by Apple TV in spring 2027, a year after its initial release was delayed indefinitely due to the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The limited series, which had been scheduled to premiere its first two episodes on September 26, 2025, is now set to debut under the spring 2027 window, according to TheWrap.

Despite Apple TV's initial delay citing sensitivity toward the assassination, the streaming service has since confirmed the new release date. Critics had viewed the series prior to its premiere, noting its portrayal of political violence, including a sniper attack, and the story of undercover investigator (Chastain) infiltrating online hate groups to stop extremists before they can carry out domestic terrorism.

Chastain herself expressed disagreement with the delay, stating that the show, which features a diverse cast including Nnamdi Asomugha, Cole Doman, and Pablo Schreiber, is more relevant than ever due to its focus on heroes who work to prevent violence. The series, created by Melissa James Gibson and produced by Anonymous Content and Freckle Films, is set to premiere in spring 2027.
