It's finally safe for Jessica Chastain's The Savant to hunt hate groups again

Almost a year ago, Apple TV planned to debut a new series titled 'The Savant,' featuring Jessica Chastain. However, the show was abruptly pulled from the schedule following the assassination of political activist Charlie Kirk. Apple did not disclose the exact reason for the cancellation but assured it would release the series at a later date.

Jessica Chastain expressed her disapproval of the postponement, stating that she was "not aligned" with Apple's decision. Despite this, the series remained unreleased, with the Apple TV app still listing it as "coming at a later date" and displaying an outdated '2025' year label. According to a recent report by Variety, Apple has finally added 'The Savant' back to its lineup, with a scheduled release date for spring 2027.

This timing aims to position the series for consideration in the upcoming Emmy awards season, which concludes on May 31, 2027. While Apple may still delay the release closer to spring, Jessica Chastain has continued to collaborate with the streaming giant on other projects, including 'The Dealer' with Adam Driver and 'The Off Weeks' with Ben Stiller.
