Iran sends US 7 conditions for talks, awaits Trump response

Iran has presented Washington with seven conditions for resuming negotiations, according to Iran's top security official Mohsen Rezaei. While not specifying all seven conditions publicly, Rezaei revealed three demands aimed at ending the conflict: an end to fighting in all areas, the release of frozen Iranian assets, and an end to the US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Qatar has conveyed Iran's terms to the United States, and Pakistan continues its mediation efforts, with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expected to visit Tehran soon. Iran's conditions come as US President Donald Trump weighs whether to resume major attacks against Tehran, with Trump acknowledging the possibility of a "big decision" on the matter.

Despite ongoing indirect contacts since the collapse of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, tensions remain high, with both sides accusing each other of violations. Iran's military strategy now focuses on US naval assets across the Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, and the Arabian Sea. Iran's military readiness includes the testing of an anti-ship missile near a US aircraft carrier or other naval asset.

Meanwhile, Tehran hopes for an agreement with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz, although regional endorsement may be necessary before a formal announcement. Iran maintains its commitment to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, but the possibility of withdrawing from the treaty cannot be ruled out, depending on US actions.
