Iran Sends 7 Conditions To US Via Qatar For Talks, Warns Of 'Decisive War' If Rejected

Iran has presented seven demands to the United States through Qatar as prerequisites for restarting peace negotiations, according to Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei. Tehran is presently awaiting a response from US President Donald Trump. The Iranian leader warned that Iran remains prepared for further military conflict if its conditions are not met.

Rezaei disclosed that Iran had communicated the seven conditions to Washington, though the full list has not been publicly disclosed. Three of the demands identified include an end to the war, the release of Iranian funds, and the lifting of the US naval blockade. Reports suggest Iran's broader demands cover issues like sanctions, maritime security, and regional de-escalation, though these have not been officially confirmed.

Qatar is facilitating the communication of Iran's conditions to Washington, with Pakistan also playing a role in diplomatic efforts. The initiative comes after the collapse of a previous memorandum of understanding, which aimed at ending the conflict and establishing a framework for a broader settlement but expired in August due to accusations from both sides of violating its terms.

Rezaei maintained a confrontational tone while discussing the possibility of renewed fighting, stating that Iran is prepared for a "decisive war" if its demands are rejected. He also warned that threats from Trump would not alter Tehran's stance. Iran has reportedly bolstered its military preparations, particularly targeting US naval assets in the Gulf, Gulf of Oman, and Arabian Sea.

However, these claims have not been independently verified. Despite the warnings, Rezaei emphasized that Iran is pursuing diplomacy and desires a swift end to the conflict. The situation reflects two parallel tracks: Iran maintaining indirect negotiations while preparing for potential escalation. The US administration has not yet publicly responded to all seven Iranian conditions as of September 20.

Rezaei also addressed Iran's nuclear policy, stating that Tehran has not decided to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Iran's nuclear doctrine remains unchanged, and the country adheres to a religious prohibition on nuclear weapons. However, Rezaei suggested that future actions by the US and Israel could influence Tehran's position on the NPT.
