Haze tightens its grip: 32 areas now recording unhealthy API readings

As of 4.30pm today, thirty-two areas across Malaysia recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings, according to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal. The highest reading was 173, recorded at Serian IPD in Sarawak, followed by nine other areas in the state with unhealthy API levels. These include Samarahan, Kuching, Sri Aman, Bintulu, Miri, Sibu, Samalaju, Limbang, and ILP Miri.

Other areas with unhealthy API readings include Putrajaya, Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, Shah Alam, Selangor, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, and three areas in Johor - Segamat, Batu Pahat, and Tangkak, all with readings of 156 or 155. Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic in Sabah recorded an API reading of 155, while Cheras in Kuala Lumpur and Bukit Rambai in Melaka both recorded 153.

Melaka City, Larkin in Johor, and Petaling Jaya in Selangor each recorded 152 and 151 respectively. Other affected areas include Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur, Banting, Selangor, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, Alor Gajah, Melaka, Indera Mahkota Kuantan, Pahang, Kuala Selangor, Klang, and Balok Baru Kuantan in Pahang.
