Google's Open Agentic Orchestrator

Google's Open Agentic Orchestrator, or AX, is a system designed to handle the complexities of agentic workloads. AX manages the creation, suspension, and disposal of task-based sandboxes, each configured with the necessary resources and permissions. These sandboxes can run billions of tasks per cluster, each with its own state, and require stringent isolation to prevent unintended interactions.

AX provides four essential primitives, allowing developers and researchers to define tasks, network policies, and model configurations with ease. The system is built on top of Agent Substrate, a compute runtime optimized for handling stateful, bursty, and long-running actors.
