Ghanaian smock showcased at Lesotho Tourism Summit

A traditional Northern Ghanaian smock has been presented to Lesotho’s tourism minister during the Lesotho Tourism Pitso summit in Maseru. The smock was gifted by a delegation from Ghana comprising Kacstone Records and the Sister Kingdom Network. The two-day tourism summit saw stakeholders from Lesotho and other African nations discuss ways to boost tourism, cultural exchange, and collaboration across the continent.

The presentation of the smock aimed to showcase Northern Ghana's rich cultural identity and to promote cultural heritage for tourism. Kacstone Records' Managing Director, Wenawome Aborah Duriyem, called for increased youth involvement, cultural exchange, and cross-border collaboration to further strengthen African tourism. The delegation's presence is part of efforts to promote African cultural heritage and forge stronger tourism and cultural partnerships.

Lesotho, known for its high-altitude mountains, cultural heritage, and hospitable people, expressed openness to foreign investment in its growing tourism sector. The country's tourism minister, Mputi Steven Mputi, highlighted the nation's unique ecosystem, which offers adventure tourism and a rich cultural heritage. Principal Secretary for the Lesotho Ministry of Tourism, Mrs Mantiti Khabo, expressed optimism about the tourism sector's potential, emphasizing the country's natural beauty and welcoming the participation of delegations from Ghana and other African nations, including Mozambique.
