France summons Iranian ambassador over closure of cultural center in Tehran

The French government has vowed a response following the closure of a French language center in Tehran by Iranian authorities. The Foreign Ministry summoned Iran's ambassador and spokesperson Pascal Confavreux denounced the move as unjustifiable and unacceptable. The center, which operated under the guise of language instruction, was accused of conducting illegal acts that violated diplomatic conventions and abusing its status as a language training facility.

Iran accused the center of identifying and building networks among the country's elite figures while facilitating their departure. This latest incident adds to a growing list of tensions between Iran and France, including the expulsion of Iranian diplomats last month and a recent social media post by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot commemorating the death of Mahsa Amini, which sparked nationwide protests.
