Danish PM Frederiksen mum about Greenland agreement

Andy Burnham has praised Denmark and the United States for reaching an agreement to "strengthen security in the Arctic" following the conclusion of discussions over Greenland. The UK Prime Minister spoke with his Danish counterpart, Mette Frederiksen, on Sunday morning, as reported by Downing Street. A spokesperson from Number 10 stated that the leaders discussed their upcoming visits to New York for the UN General Assembly (UNGA), and emphasized the significance of international partnerships in ensuring security for their citizens.

They also talked about the forthcoming signing of a new deal that would bolster security in the Arctic and North Atlantic area between the US, Greenland, and Denmark. The Prime Minister commended Prime Minister Frederiksen and the Kingdom of Denmark for their efforts in negotiating a deal that benefits all three countries. Additionally, they agreed to stay in close contact and discussed the situation in Ukraine, expressing hope for further progress in supporting Ukraine during the UN General Assembly and in the coming weeks.
