Dak Prescott throws 4 TD passes as Cowboys beat Commanders, who lose Jayden Daniels to elbow injury

Arlington, Texas (AP) — Dak Prescott shattered Tony Romo's career franchise record by throwing four touchdown passes, leading the Dallas Cowboys to a 37-20 victory over the Washington Commanders. Jayden Daniels' elbow injury sidelined him once again, as he dislocated his left elbow during the game. Prescott's record-setting 249th touchdown pass was his second of the game to CeeDee Lamb, who had 153 receiving yards.

Tight end Jake Ferguson also contributed with two scoring catches. With 3 seconds left and the Commanders on the Dallas 1-yard line, left guard Chris Paul inadvertently stepped on Daniels' foot, causing him to dislocate his elbow and leave the field on a cart. The injury marked Daniels' second of the season following a dislocation last November.

Marcus Mariota came in to replace Daniels and helped Washington narrow the gap to 30-20 with 9 minutes remaining. Prescott's performance was remarkable, completing 26 of 32 passes for 279 yards without an interception. He extended his home winning streak against NFC East rivals to 20 games. Before the injury, Daniels had been a key player for the Commanders, utilizing his mobility to keep them in games.

The Commanders will face Seattle next Sunday, while the Cowboys will play Baltimore in Rio de Janeiro.
