CM Mohan Yadav Inspects Ujjain Development Works Ahead of Simhastha 2028 | VIDEO

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inspected ongoing development projects in Ujjain on Sunday, ahead of the upcoming Simhastha 2028 festival. The CM walked through key areas, reviewing road widening and new road construction projects in locations such as Nilganga to the KTM-GAIL India crossing and a new road from Shantinagar towards Indore Road. Yadav directed officials to complete these important works on time, prioritizing those crucial for the Simhastha 2028 festival.

He interacted with local residents, expressing gratitude to those who voluntarily cleared space from their properties for the road widening projects. The Chief Minister highlighted the cooperation of residents who moved back parts of their houses, shops, and land, emphasizing their commitment to Ujjain's development. He mentioned that the main route to the Mahakaleshwar Temple will run from Sindhi Colony Square to Nanakheda Bus Stand, while a new alternative route will be constructed from Nanakheda, featuring an elevated bridge connecting the old and new parts of Ujjain.

Yadav also conducted a Bhoomi Pujan for a Jain upashray in Ujjain. He noted that Ujjain has seen a significant increase in devotees, with around 60-70 lakh visiting annually and nearly eight crore in the last year, potentially reaching over twelve crore this year. The city, along with Indore, is emerging as a major religious tourism hub, creating new economic opportunities for the region.

The government is expanding infrastructure to accommodate the rising number of visitors and prepare for Simhastha 2028, focusing on improving facilities for both devotees and local residents. The state has sanctioned ₹600 crore for high-tech security arrangements for the festival in Ujjain.
