‘Charly Boy is jaga jaga, his father was a good man’ – Obasanjo

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed his disapproval of popular entertainer Charly Boy, describing him as "jaga jaga." However, Obasanjo praised Charly Boy's father, Justice Oputa, as a "good man." During a recent interview on "Curiosity Made Me Ask" by Isbaeu, Obasanjo shared the reasons behind his initial disdain for Charly Boy.

He remarked, "Can you see a gentleman who dresses like a woman? A gentle man who dresses like a bush man? Charly Boy is too jaga jaga." Despite his criticism of Charly Boy, Obasanjo acknowledged that the entertainer had a "good father." Justice Oputa was one of the few Nigerians that Obasanjo respected during his lifetime. When Obasanjo first encountered Charly Boy, he had "no iota of regard or respect for him."

The turning point in Obasanjo's opinion came when he visited Justice Oputa in Charly Boy's house. Upon arrival, the first thing that put Obasanjo off was a motorcycle parked in front of the house. Moreover, upon entering the house, Obasanjo observed how Justice Oputa was being cared for by none other than Charly Boy. This revelation led to a change in Obasanjo's perception of Charly Boy, and he continued to visit the household until Justice Oputa's passing.

During those visits, Charly Boy demonstrated exemplary care towards his elderly father, earning Obasanjo's respect.
