Carrigg's 2-run single in 7th lifts Rockies to 5-3 win, moving Mariners to verge of elimination

In a thrilling game on Saturday night, the Colorado Rockies secured a 5-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners, propelling the Rockies one step closer to avoiding the first team to lose 100 games in four consecutive seasons since 1962-65. The decisive moment came in the seventh inning when Cole Carrigg hit a two-run single, turning the tide in favor of the Rockies.

Seattle, currently sitting at 72-83, finds themselves seven games behind the Chicago White Sox, which could lead to their elimination from the AL wild card race. To avoid this fate, the Rockies will need to win at least six of their remaining seven games.

Before the game, the Rockies honored their history by unveiling a bronze statue of former player Todd Helton. Helton's statue depicts him celebrating after catching a relay from shortstop Troy Tulowitzki for the final out of the 2007 NL Championship Series, marking the Rockies' only World Series appearance.

In the first inning, Cal Raleigh hit a two-run homer, putting the Mariners ahead 3-0. Randy Arozarena followed suit with a home run in the third inning, extending the Mariners' lead to 3-1.
