Braylen Bedford commits to Ole Miss football, four-star DB from Brentwood Academy

Defensive back Braylen Bedford, a four-star recruit from Brentwood Academy, has committed to play football at Ole Miss, according to a post on his social media account. Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 170 pounds, Bedford is considered the second-best safety prospect in Mississippi for the Class of 2028 and the sixth-best in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite. He had received offers from numerous programs, including Tennessee, Indiana, Oregon, LSU, Florida State, Michigan, and Florida.

Bedford transferred to Brentwood Academy from Vardaman, Mississippi, after posting impressive stats during his sophomore year in the fall of 2022. He recorded 69 tackles, forced three fumbles, and made an interception while contributing 1,067 yards and seven touchdowns as an offensive player. This season, he has led his team to a 3-2 record, and the Eagles will face Ensworth in a Week 6 TSSAA football game on September 25.

In the preseason, The Tennessean ranked Bedford as the third-best junior in the state. He expressed gratitude to his family, coaches, and teammates in a social media post, stating his appreciation for the opportunities provided to him.
