(Asiad) S. Korea wins Asian Games gold in team modern pentathlon event

Anjo, Japan - On Sunday, the men's modern pentathlon team event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games saw South Korea secure a gold medal, successfully defending their title. Jun Woong-tae, Lee Jong-hyeon, and Seo Chang-wan represented South Korea and achieved a combined score of 4,779 points after competing in five events: fencing, swimming, obstacle course racing, and a laser run, which is a combination of running and shooting.

This victory marked South Korea's second consecutive gold medal in the team event, following their win at the Hangzhou Asian Games. The scores of each country's top three athletes from the individual competition were added together to determine the final medal standings. South Korea's jun placed second, Lee third, and Seo fifth, earning them a total of 4,779 points. This score surpassed China's 4,768 points and Kazakhstan's 4,647 points.
