Akontombra 24-hour market project upgraded to model 2 design

The District Chief Executive for Akontombra, Joseph Appiah, announced that the 24-Hour Market Construction Project in Nsawora has been upgraded from Model 3 to Model 2. Model 2 is designated for Municipal Assemblies, indicating a higher level of development. This upgrade was based on considerations for potential future expansion at the selected site.

Mr. Appiah highlighted the strategic importance of the market's location, noting that the area is bustling and holds great potential for boosting economic activity and growth in the district.

During an inspection visit, the Western North Regional Minister, Wilbert Petty Brentum, expressed his admiration for the project's progress. Brentum had previously visited the site when construction was still at the foundation stage, but was particularly impressed with the significant advancements since his last visit. He specifically noted that the Akontombra 24-Hour Market, which is the third such project in the region that he has inspected, appeared to be further along compared to others he had visited. Brentum expressed optimism that the contractor would complete the project on schedule.

Brentum also pointed out that the market's location aligns with an area being targeted by the government's Big Push programme, suggesting that the collaboration between the market project and this initiative could further stimulate economic activity in the region. The Akontombra District chose Nsawora as the site for the 24-Hour Economy Market, and the Regional Minister's visit underscored the project's importance and the positive developments being made.
