7 Jaguars inactive for Week 2 game vs. Broncos

The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced seven players will be inactive for their Week 2 game against the Denver Broncos. The NFL rule permits teams to field only 48 active players on game days, so inactivity is unavoidable. With two practice squad players elevated this week, seven Jaguars athletes must sit out the matchup.

The inactive list includes quarterback Quinn Ewers, wide receiver CJ Williams, safety Jalen Huskey, linebacker Jack Kiser, offensive lineman Daniel Faalele, tight end Tanner Koziol, and defensive end Wesley Williams. The affected players were inactive last week as well.

Practice squad addition Bryan Thomas Jr. will replace inactive Williams, likely due to Thomas's potential contributions on special teams. Huskey, the fifth safety on the depth chart, and Koziol, the fourth tight end behind Quintin Morris, also join the inactive roster.

Nick Mullens will start at quarterback in Ewers' place, while Jalen McLeod could see more playing time due to Kiser's absence. Williams saw limited offensive action in last week's game, suggesting the team trusts Thomas to be ready for the upcoming matchup.
