60 Minutes Transcript: Patrick Clancy

Patrick Clancy, father of three children who were killed by his wife Lindsay, shares his story of grief and forgiveness. In the fall of 2022, when their youngest child Callan was five months old, Patrick noticed his wife Lindsay struggling with sleep and depression. She made multiple emergency room visits and was admitted to McLean Psychiatric Hospital, where she was treated for depression but later released.

Sixteen days after Lindsay's release, Patrick found her dead in their backyard, her throat and wrists cut, after jumping from an upstairs window. In the basement, he discovered his children Cora, Dawson, and Callan, who had been strangled. Callan survived and was airlifted to Boston Children's Hospital.

Patrick, overwhelmed with grief, made tributes to his children, typing with one hand while holding Callan's hand with the other. He forgave Lindsay, believing her actions were a result of her mental illness. Despite the tragic loss, Patrick continues to live with the outcome every day.
