3 MP Teachers Suspended For Sleeping, Playing Cards During School Hours

Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh has suspended three government school teachers following videos and photographs that surfaced on social media, revealing their alleged negligence during school hours. Two teachers were captured sleeping in front of students, while a third was allegedly playing cards at a shop during the same time. The Chhatarpur Collector, Mrinal Meena, ordered the suspensions after reviewing the visual evidence shared online and reported by news media outlets.

District Education Officer, P.K. Raikwar, issued the suspension orders based on the circulating videos and photos. Two of the suspended teachers, Raghavendra Singh and Rekha Manav, were found sleeping in school during class hours. Raghavendra Singh, a primary teacher at Government Integrated Middle School in Bodi, Harpalpur area, lost his position after a video and photographs showed him sleeping in front of students.

Rekha Manav, another primary teacher at Government Primary School in Kadari, was suspended following a viral video of her sleeping in front of students on September 15 during school hours. The Chhatarpur teacher suspension was ordered due to the prima facie negligence towards government duties and indiscipline. Both teachers have now been reassigned to the respective Block Education Officers' offices in Rajnagar and Bijawar.

The third teacher, Dashraj Singh Parmar, a primary teacher at Government Primary School in Bhawanipura, Rajnagar block, was also suspended after a video surfaced online showing him playing cards with others at a shop near the bus stand in Kurela village. Rule 9 of the Madhya Pradesh Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1966, governed the suspension of Dashraj Singh Parmar, pending a regular inquiry.

All three suspended teachers will receive subsistence allowance during their suspension period, in accordance with Madhya Pradesh Fundamental Rule 54.
