Yemeni foreign minister praises Saudi support for Yemen’s people and leadership

Yemen’s Foreign Minister Afrah Al-Zouba has commended Saudi Arabia for its support of the Yemeni people and their rightful leadership. She highlighted that Yemen is collaborating with partners in the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, headed by Saudi Arabia, as well as with international allies, believing that partnership enhances the state's capabilities rather than replacing its duties.

Al-Zouba emphasized that national unity does not entail abandoning scrutiny or holding individuals accountable, but rather necessitates addressing disagreements and mistakes within institutions to prevent them from becoming weaknesses exploited by the Houthi group. She also underscored Egypt's crucial role as an Arab partner, complementing Saudi Arabia's critical standing and the UN-led efforts.

Furthermore, Al-Zouba acknowledged Russia's backing for freedom of navigation at the UN Security Council, expressing optimism that Moscow would aid in fostering a unified global response against assaults on maritime traffic. The minister stressed that the sole route to stability in Yemen lies in dismantling the coup and reinstating state institutions in accordance with the agreed-upon benchmarks, most notably UN Security Council Resolution 2216.
