Woman claims son, another student assaulted at religious school hostel

A mother has accused five students of assaulting her 14-year-old son and another Form Two student at a religious school hostel in Bukit Ibam, Rompin. According to Siti Rohani Yusof, the first incident took place around midnight on September 12, when the two students were brought to a hostel room, had their heads covered, and were beaten.

Her son was assaulted for approximately two hours, while his friend endured about two-and-a-half hours of the attack. While her son was too frightened to report the incident initially, he confided in the warden and teachers about it on Tuesday.

Rohani alleged that her son was assaulted again on September 15 by the same students, who used a broomstick in the attack. She reported the matter to the police, and the senior students allegedly kicked, pinched, slapped, and punched her son using a broomstick. He was subsequently taken to Muadzam Shah Hospital for a medical examination, including X-rays.

The Rompin police chief confirmed that a preliminary investigation found that the two Form Two students were called to the hostel room by five male students, comprising three Form Five students and two Form Four students. Both victims were beaten by all the suspects, and five suspects were detained before being released on police bail.

The case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for the use of force or violence.
