‘Use your time wisely’ — Republic Bank MD advises youth

Republic Bank Managing Director Dr Benjamin Dzoboku has advised Ghana's youth to wisely use their time and talents, rather than allowing social media and other distractions to consume their valuable hours. He explained that everyone has the same 24 hours each day, but it is how those hours are utilized that can significantly impact an individual's future.

Speaking on Joy FM's Personality Profile programme, Dr Dzoboku noted that while social media is a major distraction, its overuse can prevent young people from making meaningful progress in their personal and professional lives. He emphasized that time is a resource equally available to all, making its effective use a crucial factor in determining one's progress.

The Republic Bank MD encouraged the youth to be intentional about their time and focus on activities that develop their abilities, strengthen their knowledge, and move them closer to their aspirations. He stressed the importance of consistency and focus, particularly in a world where young people are constantly exposed to competing demands for their attention.

Dr Dzoboku cautioned that devoting valuable hours to unproductive activities could lead to failure, and urged the youth not to let this happen. His advice extends beyond reducing social media usage; it calls for deliberate deployment of time, talents, and attention. He urged young people to recognize that progress requires sustained effort and commitment to making productive use of opportunities available to them.

Dr Dzoboku's message is rooted in his own professional journey and stresses that talent alone is insufficient; how that talent is developed and deployed through consistent effort is equally important. He urged the youth to guard their attention, remain focused on their goals, and resist distractions that could impede their meaningful progress.
