Trump says Russia has already attacked countries allied with Ukraine

India's Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, addressed concerns regarding the Russian Sanctions Bill and its potential impact on India. The minister emphasized that the government's primary focus remains the well-being of its citizens and that it will pursue measures beneficial to the public.

Singh stated, "The people of India are the top priority for our government. We will take every measure that benefits our public." He reiterated that India operates independently, basing its decisions on the nation's best interests and not succumbing to external pressures. "We act in the best interests of our country. We do not base our decisions on the dictates of other nations," Singh asserted.

The minister reiterated India's stance on tariffs imposed against the country, expressing that "we have consistently maintained that the tariffs being imposed are unfair and we do not operate under pressure from any other nation."

When discussing India's energy needs, Singh emphasized that the government will continue to source energy based on what is commercially viable and economical. "Energy remains a primary concern for us; we will source energy for our country and our people from wherever we find commercially viable and economical options," he said.
