Trump says he will create 'AI Force' like Space Force

On Truth Social, former US President Donald Trump announced his intention to create an AI Force, drawing a parallel to the Space Force from his previous administration. Trump declared that he will appoint an AI Czar and is committed to protecting the AI industry from what he perceives as radical left Democrats' attacks. He accused Democrats of spreading various hoaxes, including Russia and Ukraine allegations, global warming, his two impeachments, men in women's sports, and transgender rights.

Trump argued that the attack on AI started with a misstep in protecting data centers, which he claimed failed despite the benefits to communities, such as higher salaries, lower taxes, and safer streets.

Trump suggested that critics are now directly targeting AI, similar to how global warming was rebranded as climate change. He emphasized that the government will support and nurture the AI industry, rather than hinder its growth. Trump also outlined the role of the AI Force, which he said would involve utilizing existing criminal and civil justice systems to address concerns. The AI Force is being formed to combat potential threats to AI, according to Trump, who compared it to the Space Force's success in his first term.

Regarding the AI Czar position, Trump specified that only individuals with a high IQ should apply. He highlighted AI as the next industrial revolution or internet, possibly impacting up to 25% of US GDP, and stated that the United States should maintain its leadership in this sector. Trump dismissed fears about AI taking over or destroying humanity as a hoax, asserting that the only guardrails needed are a strong and smart leader.

During his tenure, Trump has demonstrated unwavering support for rapid AI development and US dominance in the field. In January 2025, he signed an executive order to bolster and expand America's AI capabilities and hosted the announcement of Stargate, a $500 billion data center venture involving OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle.
