Tinubu’s drug allegation: Provide your evidence – Fani-Kayode challenges US firm

Nigerian High Commissioner Femi Fani-Kayode has challenged a United States-based political advisory firm to provide evidence supporting the alleged drug trafficking record linked to President Bola Tinubu. The allegation is reportedly made by the US Department of Justice in a civil forfeiture complaint filed on July 26, 1993, in the Northern District of Illinois.

Fani-Kayode stated that the allegation is against property, not a finding that Tinubu personally smuggled heroin. He emphasized that being investigated for drug trafficking without arrest, indictment, prosecution, or conviction does not equate to involvement in drug trafficking. Fani-Kayode questioned who made the allegation and where the evidence can be found.

He reiterated that an investigation is not proof of involvement and that civil forfeiture is an action against property, not a criminal verdict against a person. Fani-Kayode challenged others to provide evidence that the entire Federal Government is corrupt.
