Seda vince l’European Carton Excellence Award 2026 con un nuovo imballaggio

Seda International Packaging Group has secured the Food category title at the 2026 European Carton Excellence Award (ECEA), for their innovative Da Vinci Clamshell packaging solution. Organized by Pro Carton and the European Carton Makers Association (ECMA), the ECEA honors excellence in packaging across Europe. A panel of packaging experts judged the entries based on innovation, practicality, design, production techniques, and cost efficiency.

The 2026 winners were announced at a ceremony in Rome. The Da Vinci Clamshell, a single-use food packaging with a snap-on lid that opens and closes like two valves of a shell, is a patented innovation by Seda. It stands out as the first rounded clamshell in paper for foodservice applications. Instead of adapting a conventional format to paper, Seda redesigned the packaging around the product shape and consumer interaction with the packaging.

The rounded top matches the product's natural profile, improving stability and reducing lateral movement inside the packaging, while the inclined base enhances grip and removal. An intuitive opening and closing mechanism further improves usability for foodservice operators and consumers. The design also ensures stackability. The Da Vinci Clamshell is manufactured using MM Board & Paper cardboard.
