Seahawks injury update: Date for Zach Charbonnet’s practice return ‘coming soon’

Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet will likely miss the next three games, but his return to practice may be sooner rather than later. Head coach Mike Macdonald revealed on Friday that they are working on a date for Charbonnet's return to action. "Zach's doing great," Macdonald commented, adding that they are getting "down to him possibly finding a date" for his practice return.

Charbonnet sustained a torn ACL during the NFC Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers and has been on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list since then. However, there are no indications of setbacks in his rehab and recovery, suggesting a quicker return. The crucial point for Charbonnet is the eligibility to practice.

With the revised rule, he can have his practice window opened up as early as Week 3 against the Washington Commanders, providing him with up to two weeks to prepare before Week 5's showdown with the San Francisco 49ers. Last season, Charbonnet was the Seahawks' leading rusher with 12 touchdowns and 730 yards, making his return highly anticipated for the revamped backfield.
