Qatar Chamber, UNESCO discuss cooperation on Innovation and AI

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Chamber and UNESCO have engaged in talks to enhance collaboration in innovation, technology, and AI ethics, emphasizing the responsible use of emerging technologies by private-sector entities. The dialogue took place during the 4th Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, co-organized by UNESCO in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Both organizations underscored the necessity for practical frameworks to facilitate companies, including SMEs and startups, in adopting AI responsibly and ethically. These discussions have set the stage for a cooperation agreement between Qatar Chamber and UNESCO, focusing on AI governance, ethics training, knowledge exchange, and joint private-sector initiatives. Further technical talks will be conducted to finalize the implementation mechanisms, leading to the signing of a memorandum of understanding.

Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli, a prominent Board Member and Chairman at Qatar Chamber, expressed the Chamber's dedication to bridging the private sector with the innovation and technology landscape, fostering collaboration among key stakeholders, including companies, government, academic institutions, startups, and international organizations.
